Leadlight Windows for Winary CafeThese 2 windows were made for Fossil Ridge Winery and Cafe in Bright Water, Nelson. I was approached by the owners and asked if I could design a window with deep red grapes like the ones grown on the property. They wanted the design to be bold and also wanted a fossil in the picture, these are found through out their property. I used a few different sizes of lead to create depth and strength to the design and the owners were very happy with the window.
The winery cafe is open over summer and in the cafe area we created an elegant wine glass. I used a lovely German hand made clear for the wine glass itself, and a deep red "water glass" for the wine. Again the use of different lead sizes gives the leadlight depth and definition.
The owners are thrilled with the leadlights and they can be seen when the cafe opens again in November.
